Google Says You Need to go Mobile!

If you have been checking your websites analytics you have probably noticed that roughly 50% of your website traffic has come from people browsing your website on mobile devices.

In line with this trend Google has anounched that from the the 21st of April Google will be adding Mobile friendliness to their search algorithum. This means if your website is not mobile friendly (optimised) then you could find your website falling down the rankings.

Depending on how your website has been structured this doesnt necessarily have to be expensive. If your website is built in Wordpress or Joomla for example (in fact anything that is opensource) this could be as easy as purchasing a new Responsive template or if your website is an older style static website you could use a service like Go Mobi which for a few dollars a month can provide you with a mobile version of your website.

I would recommend the later as a stop gap until you have time to implement the first option.

What is for certain is you need to put a plan in place or risk sliding down Google's rankings.
